18sept. Ya en Barcelona

Ya desde Barcelona, he abierto mi blog para intentar volver, de alguna manera, a los días increibles en Nueva Zelanda. Todo el blog y el viaje me parecen ya historias del pasado. Por aquí, todo marcha bien y tengo la sensación de que va a ser un buen año.

Cuelgo las tres últimas fotos del viaje. La vuelta a Christchurch, ciudad desde la que despego rumbo a casa, después de cuatro años de visitas a Nueva Zelanda, es ya un camino conocido para mí que me trae recuerdos de todo tipo. Una carretera de doble sentido y, en algunos puentes, un sólo carril, es la única manera de cruzar la isla del sur de norte a sur. Durante las 5 horas de trayecto, paso por la gasolinera de Kurow, los puentes, el lago que fotografié a la ida, el McDonalds y su skatepark, Timaru, la playa, ese pueblo tan vaquero donde paramos el año pasado...y finalmente, Christchurch, la Plaza de la Catedral y el Backpackers donde paso mi última noche.

Un abrazo a todos, sé que muchos habéis leído pero no comentado así que continuaré con esto en mis siguientes aventuras que os puedan entretener.

I'm back in Barcelona. I open my blog trying to fly back to NZ, somehow. The days in Wanaka and the whole blog story seem now like part of the past. In Barcelona, everything is alright and it smells like it's going to be a cool year.

I'm uploading the last pics of the trip. Driving back to Christchurch is something I've done enough in the 4 times I've been to NZ, and it reminds me of lots of different feelings. The only way to go across the island is a 2 lane road, sometimes even 1 lane. On the way, I find all those places that I know and that I've driven through 6 weeks ago, when I got here. The lake, the 1 lane bridges, the cowboys town, the McDonalds an it's skatepark, Timaru, the beach...and finally Christchurch's Cathedral Square and the Backpackers, where I spend my last night.

Hugs for everyone there. I know that most of you have been reading this, but not commenting, so I feel like I'll keep posting during my next adventures, to keep us all entertained.

Esta última semana ha sido triste. Todos se han ido marchando. La casa ha quedado limpia y vacía. El calor ha llegado y en el jardín se palpa el ambiente primaveral, que me dice que me toca pirarme. En las fotos, ovejas hasta en el park, mis dedos encintados con la cinta de la marca de vinos de los padres de Henrik, y las toallas de la casa tendidas en el jardín.

This last week was sad. Everyone's pretty much gone. The house is clean and empty. The warm weather is here and you can tell it's springtime out in the garden, whitch means it's time to leave. The pics...sheep all around the place, my toes on Henriks wine tape and the house towels hanging in the garden..

Buenas. Hoy se me ha empezado a curar el mordisco múltiple de araña de la espalda. He dormido muy acojonado durante días. Os lo podeis imaginar.

28 de agosto.Cinema.

No hagais mucho caso a las fechas, me las invento sobre la marcha. El otro día fui al cine. No se si se apreciará en las fotos, pero es, con diferencia, el cine más underground y pintoresco en el que he estado. Butacas de todo tipo, sofas, un coche viejo...todo sirve para sentarse y ver la peli. Media parte a media peli, para tomar una birra, comentar la jugada...Bestial. Cine Paradiso. La peli, Public Enemies, una basurilla entretenida con un final deplorable.

Dont take the dates too serious, I invent them all the time. The other day I went to the cinema. I dont know if you'll get the details in the pics, but it's the most underground cinema I've ever been to and it was siiiick. All kinds of sits, a car, cauches...anything works when it comes to take a sit and watch a movie. 10 minutes to have a beer in the middle of the movie, great! Cine Paradiso. The movie was a bit sketchy, but it was a great night plan.

30 de agosto. Rain, rain, rain

Lluvia. No para de hacer mal tiempo. En 20 días que llevamos aquí, hemos esquiado menos de la mitad y sólo dos días ha sido con buen tiempo. Estas fotos hablan del día día que se respira por aquí. Quejarnos, no nos vamos a quejar, pero espero que llegue el buen tiempo, porque se nos acaban los puzzles, los Monopolys, el Mariokart, los vídeos, pelis y otros pasarratos domésticos.

Rain. Still raining. 20 days here, skied less than a half of them, and just 2 were good weather. The pics show what we've been up to lately. We're not complaining, cause it wouldnt be fair, but we hope is going to get better, cause we're tired of Mariokart, Monopoly, puzzles, videos, movies and other time-killers...

24 de agosto. Increible

Increible. Sólo puedo deciros que esto esta siendo increible estos últimos días.

Me gustaría poderlo explicar con cuatro factores, pero eso creo que no es del todo posible. Puedo decir que la salud va bien, el deporte va muy bien, la vidilla está muy interesante, nuevas amistades y muy pocas ganas de que se acabe. Además, el paisaje sigue sorprendiendo y la naturaleza, floreciendo.

Disculpad que escriba rápido y mal, hay prisas...

La foto de mi, es para mostrar la cara que se me queda al completar mi mejor ronda en una competición. Plátano, música, bebida. Satisfecho, supongo.

Amazing. I can just say that this is being amazing those last days. I wish I could describe this with a couple facts or details, but wouldnt be easy. I can say that health rules, skiing is going great, life is interesting, new friends around are great! I dont wanna go back, this is being cool! Not only all of this, but the landcape is still surprising and nature is great, you know!

13 de agosto. A day at the slopes.

Nos levantamos y después de tontas deliveraciones, decidimos subir a ver si se aclara el día.

We wake up and we decide to go up the hill and see if it clears up.

La lluvia ha parado, hemos aprovechado el día, es de noche y sigio poniendo a prueba mi nueva cámara. Nuestra casa y nuestro coche. Nuestra ropa cogiendo frío sobre las sillas de la entrada.

12 de agosto. rainy day

Hoy llueve. Ayer llovió y parece que va a seguir lloviendo unos cuantos días más. Mola como la silla se refleja en cada gota del cristal de la puerta de la habitación.

It's raining today. It rained yesterday and it seems like it's going to be like this for a while. It's cool how you can see the chair reflexed in every water drop on the doors glass.

10 de agosto. Wanaka is beautiful

Aun con un gran jet-lag encima, nos desvelamos a las 4 de la mañana, aguantamos en la cama hasta las 7 y nos pusimos en pie para empezar el día. Al salir de casa, esto es lo que nos encontramos.

A veces, me preguntan cómo es Nueva Zelanda y digo que bonito, sí, pero que nada fuera de lo común... Cuando estamos aquí, vivimos como uno más dentro del paisaje, y amenudo olvidamos lo espectacular que es. Momentos como éste hacen que te acuerdes de abrir los ojos y disfrutar cada día que pasas fuera de casa.

Despues de hacer algunos recados matinales, subimos a esquiar y aprovechamos el resto del día al máximo.

Still with a big jet-lag with us, we got up at about 4am, remained in bed until 7 and then woke up to get the day started. When we left the room, this is what we found.

Sometimes, they ask how does NZ look like and I say, yeah, it's quite beautiful, but nothing that you cant find anywhere else...When we're here, we live like someone else inside the landscape and usually forget how spectacular this is. Shots like this make you remember where you are, and enjoy every day you spend far from home.

After going through some morning to-do's, we went up skiing and enjoyed the whole day as much as possible.

5 de Agosto - 7 de Agosto. Vuelo a NZ.

Nueva Zelanda es lo más lejos a lo que un español de a pie puede aspirar viajar. Pedro Duque no es exactamente un español de a pie. Muchos os preguntáis...cuánto se tarda?Por donde se vuela?

Los últimos dos días, mi amigo Pako y yo, los hemos pasado entre aviones, aeropuertos, check-ins, discusiones soble el peso de las maletas, compras tontas por aeropuertos y comidas suculentas servidas por atractivas azafatas.

Neww Zealand is the furthest that a regular spaniard could ever go. You might think...how far is it? How long does it take to get here?

The last 2 days, my friend Pako and I spent them among planes, airports, check-ins, arguments arount the weight of our luggage and delicious meals on board served by awesome sexy hostesses.
